When Wero Whitewater Park built a 16-metre, three-level climbing structure with 78 elements, large timber obstacles had to be secured at height between steel frames where standard access wasn't possible. Working under Clyde Services alongside the German KristallTurm team, our two-person rope access crew combined crane lifts and rigging to install every obstacle safely over three weeks. The facility opened in July 2025 as New Zealand's tallest multi-level climbing course — and proved Geo Mana delivers structural installation at height.

The challenge

What made this difficult

A 16-metre climbing structure was being built at Wero Whitewater Park in South Auckland — a three-level KristallTurm design carrying 78 climbing elements. Many of the obstacles and large timber components had to be positioned and secured at height between steel structures, where standard access was not an option. Working under Clyde Services, the crane company on the build, our crew was brought in to make those installs happen safely.

All obstacles were installed and secured safely across the full 16-metre structure, with every timber element positioned between the steel framework through a combination of crane lifts and rope access. The two-person crew worked consistently across the three-week programme, coordinating with Clyde Services' crane operators and the German KristallTurm installation team. The facility opened in July 2025 as New Zealand's tallest multi-level climbing course, built to hold up to 100 climbers at a time. For Geo Mana, the project proved the team's ability to deliver structural installation at height — a new capability for the business.
