Rock bolts, mesh & facing systems
Rock reinforcement, rockfall mesh, geocell and facing systems for fractured or eroding faces.
What it does
Rock and steep soil faces often need reinforcement and a surface system working together. We install bolts, dowels, rockfall mesh, geocell and flexible facings, and can support shotcrete preparation and delivery where that sits inside a wider contractor-led package. The system is built to the engineer's layout, loads and inspection points.
Methodology
How the work runs
Every stage is matched to the engineer’s design and the conditions found on the face.
- 01
Scaling and inspection
Loose blocks are barred down and the face inspected, so bolts anchor rock that will stay put.
- 02
Drilling
Holes are drilled through the unstable mass into competent rock at the orientation and depth specified in the design.
- 03
Bolt installation
Bolts are grouted or mechanically anchored, then tensioned where the design requires an active load across the joint plane.
- 04
Facing, testing and sign-off
Mesh, geocell or the specified facing is installed, reinforcement is tested where required, and records are supplied for sign-off.

Questions
Common questions
What types of ground stability services do you provide?+
Geo Mana delivers slope stabilisation, slip repair, soil nails, ground anchors, rock bolts, mesh and facing systems, difficult access, retaining remediation, drainage, erosion control, field testing, condition assessment and planned slope maintenance. The right combination depends on the ground, design and access.
Is rope access safe for working on steep sites?+
Absolutely. Our rope access technicians are fully certified and trained to carry out high-access geotechnical work safely and efficiently. It's often the best method for working on steep or inaccessible terrain without heavy machinery.
What areas of New Zealand do you operate in?+
Geo Mana is based in West Auckland and mobilises across New Zealand. Commercial and specialist crews can deploy nationally; residential work is assessed by scope, access and location.
